Payments, refunds & risks
Please read this before you contribute or launch a campaign.
How payments work
Contributions are charged in U.S. dollars by Stripe when you complete checkout. You pay your chosen amount plus an optional tip to bfunded — no tax is added. You'll get an emailed receipt from Stripe.
Where the money goes
Payments are held by bfunded and released to the campaign creator after they verify their identity and bank account with Stripe and the campaign passes review. Platform fees are shown before you pay (Causes: 0%; Projects: a percentage of each pledge shown at checkout).
Refunds
Contributions are generally final once a campaign has received them. If you were charged in error, see a duplicate charge, or believe a campaign is fraudulent, email hello@bfunded.net and we'll review it. Optional tips can be refunded on request within 30 days. You can also contact your card issuer.
Risks of backing a campaign
bfunded doesn't guarantee that any project will be completed, that rewards will be delivered or delivered on time, or that a cause will use funds exactly as described. Back campaigns you trust, read updates, and ask creators questions.
Creator responsibilities
Creators must tell the truth, use funds as described, post honest updates, deliver promised rewards or offer refunds if they can't, and handle any taxes on the money they receive.
